This Week At North Anderson
Hello North Anderson family and friends!
We hope that you are doing well, bundled up and are ready for the cold weather that we’re already seeing this week!
We’re very grateful for the wonderful Lord’s Day that our Father blessed us with this past Sunday and are thankful that the He added to His church here as we welcomed Mr. Lacet Locklear into our church family. We’re also grateful that our True North Student Ministry had a great Winter Retreat in the mountains of Tennessee and have returned safely.
If you weren’t in attendance on Sunday, Mr. Dennis also announced his upcoming retirement. We’re very thankful for his many years of faithful service here at north Anderson and are excited for him as he enters this new season of life.
We hope that you’ll get plugged in to what’s happening this week at North Anderson:
On Wednesday:
We have our regular mid-week ministry schedule of Adult DiscipleU Bible study at 10:30am or 6:30pm. We’ll be continuing our study of Revelation and finishing up the 12th chapter.
Our Children’s and True North Student ministries will meet at 6:30pm
Our Music Ministry Rehearsal will be held at 5:30pm in the Sanctuary. Choir, Praise Team, and musicians, please make every effort to be in attendance. Also, if you'd like to become part of our Music Ministry, come and join us!
On Thursday:
Our Men’s Bible Study at Mama Penn’s is held at 7:00am
The Cultural Christian Cohort at the Rydin’s home will begin with an introduction to this semesters book, “The Screwtape Letters” (C.S. Lewis). Dinner will be at 6:00pm and the Cohort begins at 7:00pm (those planning to attend dinner must notify Kelsey Rydin)
On Saturday:
We’re hosting an Appreciation Brunch for our Bible Fellowship teachers from 9:30am – 11:00am in the Family Life Center
This Sunday:
We’ll gather for Bible Fellowship Classes at 9:15am and will continue our exposition of 1st Peter as Pastor Kyle preaches a message from 1st Peter 2:11-25. We encourage you to read the passage beforehand and meditate upon what it tells us and the implications of that as it may be one of the most challenging passages that we’ll study in this series.
Our Personnel Team will meet at 5:30pm for a scheduled meeting.
Verse For The Week
"You are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his possession, so that you may proclaim the praises of the one who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light" - 1 Peter 2:9
Prayer Focus For The Week - The North African people in City of Broken Colors, Europe
Give thanks to God for continued opportunities to share the good news! Last month, you were asked to pray for Faiza, a North African woman living in Europe, and recently a believer was able to share the gospel with her and two of her friends. While Faiza is still resistant to Christ, the two friends expressed an interest in having more conversations in the future. Pray for these friends, Jasmin and Souad, asking that the truth they have heard will stick with them, and pray that they will desire to learn more about Jesus. Also continue interceding for Faiza. Although she argues and deflects questions, she comes from a place of deep pain and a need for Christ. Ask the Holy Spirit to convict her of her sin and her need for a Savior.
