This Week
Hello North Anderson family and friends!
We hope that you are having an incredible beginning to your week! We’re excited about a few things that are going on here this week and wanted to keep you in the loop and share a few updates at the end!
We will be on our regular midweek ministry schedule this Wednesday with Worship Ministry rehearsal at 5:30pm in the Sanctuary. Our choir will be working on a special presentation for Easter Sunday morning so please make every effort to be in attendance!
Adult DiscipleU Bible Study at 10:30am or 6:30pm in the Family Life Center (Revelation 19 this week), and our Children’s Ministry programs will meet at 6:30pm.
The True North Student Ministry will meet at the regular time of 6:30pm but will be going off-campus to distribute Easter invitations in our community. Any adult who would like to join them is welcome (even encouraged!) to come along. Just let Pastor Stephen know. They will return to the church at approximately 7:30pm.
The weekly Men’s Bible Study at Mama Penn’s will take place at 7:00am. All men and boys are welcome to come fellowship, eat a good breakfast, and study the book of Mark with us.
On Friday at 10:00am, the Caring Hands Ministry will meet at the home of Mary Simmons. This group works on project by quilting, knitting, and crocheting while they fellowship with one another.
Our Ladies Ministry has their monthly “Coffee Chat” this Saturday morning at 10:00am in the Family Life Center. All ladies are welcome and encourage to come hang out, enjoy a cup of coffee, and hear from a guest speaker.
We’ll continue our 10 Commandments sermon series this Sunday as Pastor Kyle preaches a message entitled, “No Other Gods” from Exodus 20:1-3. If you missed the introductory message to this series, it’s available here on our website (click “media”), on the app, or on the North Anderson podcast.
We also encourage you, if you haven’t already done so, to join one of our Bible Fellowship Classes this Sunday at 9:15am. You will be so glad that you did!
On Sunday evening at 5:00pm, we will gather together for time of corporate prayer. Please make every effort to attend these prayer meetings. There’s simply nothing we do that is more vital (a brief Deacons meeting in the Faithbuilders classroom will follow our prayer time)
Another quick note:
We just received our financial report from our bookkeeper and at the end of the 1st quarter, we are above budget. We praise God for His provision and for your faithfulness in giving. Let’s continue practicing good personal stewardship so that lives both here and abroad can be saturated with the power of the Gospel.
On a related note, we also wanted you to be aware of a few areas of designated giving (above the tithe) where there are current needs that, should the Lord lead, you can help to meet.
Annie Armstrong Missions Offering – Annually, North Anderson joins thousands of like-minded in a funding partnership for missions right here in North America. Every penny of the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering goes towards church planting, revitalization, and compassion ministry right here in the United States. You can designate a gift to the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering through Easter Sunday.
Playground Fund – At our Spring Family Meeting, at team was elected to design, plan and present a concept for a new playground for our growing children’s ministry here at North Anderson. Our current playground is simply not adequate to meet the needs of our children’s ministry, and we’re excited to think about how we can better serve this wonderful part of our church family by giving them a fun, spacious, and safe place to play. You can help to finance this upcoming project by designating a financial gift.
Missions Fund – We’ve been given an opportunity to serve the homeless / home insecure as well as those in recovery programs right here in our community by proving them meals. Those in desperate situations such as these need to see the light of Christ shining through His church and we aim to show them just that. If so led, you can help this effort by designating a gift to the Missions Fund.
Missions Scholarship Fund – At our Spring Family Meeting, we also voted to establish this fund to encourage and promote missions’ engagement by helping to offset the cost of mission trips. Any active North Anderson church member will be able to apply for a $300 scholarship through this fund. Our prayer is that by offering this scholarship, it will serve to lead more to go on a mission trip that will become the starting point for a lifetime of missional service. Your designated gift to the Mission Scholarship Fund could be the answer to that prayer.
These gifts can be given physically or online.
Pittsburg Mission Trip - If you are interested in going with a small group of servants to Pittsburgh this summer, the dates will be July 7-12. We will once again be staying with Randy and Pam Creamer at the Warren Mission House and working on the facility, as well as ministering to/with our church planting partners, Brett and Emily Phillips at Reclamation Church in New Kensington (just outside of Pittsburgh). Space will be very limited and it will be first come-first serve.
Verse of the week: “Do not have other gods besides me” – Exodus 20:3
Prayer focus for the week: The Missionary Explorers of Project 3000
Missionary explorer Maggie Paige shares: "My new ministry partner had never gone out to share the gospel before, especially not among Muslims, but after seeing how we are called to proclaim the good news with our mouths, she seemed encouraged and excited to do so! Please pray for more national partners to gain this insight. Praise the Lord that this season of Ramadan has opened many doors and conversations and that we have been able to proclaim who Christ truly is! Pray for these seeds to have fallen on good soil. In these days after Ramadan, please ask the Lord to lead us to those who are seeking. I met with Muslim background believers and was so encouraged by their testimonies of how the Lord delivered them! Please pray for many more testimonies like these among these Muslim groups. The Lord loves them so much. Praising the Father for His continual faithfulness and steadfastness. Seriously, I am so grateful to have been able to join Him this past year in the work He is accomplishing."
