You Don't Want To Miss This Sunday At North Anderson
Hello North Anderson family & friends!
Christmas day is ALMOST here and we're so very excited about what's going on at North Anderson in the events that led up to that day that will help prepare our hearts for the celebration of Christ' birth!
We hope that you are planning to join us on Sunday for Bible Fellowship Classes at 9:15am and for Corporate Worship at 10:30pm. I will be wrapping up our "Timeless Christmas Series" with a message from Isaiah 9 and I cannot wait to see what the Lord does in our hearts through His Word and Spirit!
On a related note: The Christmas season may be the best time of the year to invite those lost friends and family members to church.
Consider the fact that a recent study conducted by Lifeway Research found that a whopping 91 percent of Americans celebrate Christmas in some form or fashion, including a majority of atheists, individuals claiming other religions, and agnostics or those with no religious preference. The same study concluded that almost half of the American population will attend a worship service or special event like a carol singing or Christmas Eve service.
When Lifeway Research presented respondents with the question, “When are you most open to consider matters of faith?” Among those asked, 47% responded, “during the Christmas holiday season”.
What that means for us: It is more likely that those who you invite to church will take you up on the invitation right now than at any other time of year. In short...please take a moment to send an invite to the unchurched family and friends in your life! Now is the time! Let's love other well and invite them to worship!
Aside from the obvious invitation to our regular Sunday service that you should extend to those you love, please consider extending an invitation to our Christmas Eve service which will begin at 11:30pm and wrap up around midnight!
A couple more reminders this Christmas season:
We're receiving the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering for International Missions throughout the month of December. Please give generously and sacrificially as this offering supplies our International Mission Board personnel that are already on the field with the resources they need and also funds our goal of getting more missionaries into gospel-poor regions of the world.
Speaking of giving, many of you bless the church exponentially with a generous financial gift at the end of the year. Your deeply appreciated end-of-year generosity allows us to finish the year strong and get a jump on the new year. Please note that in order for your donation to be included in the 2024 tax record, if mailed, it must be postmarked by December 31st. If giving online, your gift must be processed by the 31st, which may require you to make the donation a few days earlier.
There will be no regular Wednesday services on Christmas Eve. There will only be the 11:30pm Candlelight Service. There will also be no regular Wednesday services the following Wednesday, as it falls on New Years Day. Our Wednesday morning/evening ministry will resume on January 8th.
On Sunday, December 29th, we will be celebrating both ordinances of the church, Baptism and The Lord's Supper. What a way to end the year! Praise God!
Lastly, we were thrilled to welcome two new members into our church family during the Adult Bible Study on Wednesday evening. Fred and Pamela Freeman united with North Anderson by Statement of Faith and we are thrilled that our Lord added them to our fellowship. Welcome Fred and Pamela when you see them!
In Christ Alone,
Pastor Kyle
