This Week at North Anderson
Good morning, North Anderson family and friends!
What a wonderful, Spirit filled morning that Lord blessed us with yesterday! He is so good to us, and I know that like myself, you are filled with gratitude for His presence and work amongst us!
I hope that you are as excited as I am about our first Missions Conference that is coming up this weekend! Please make every effort to be in your spot and invite a friend to join you as we celebrate and embrace the call to missions that the Lord has placed upon us as individuals and as a church family on Saturday evening at 6:00pm and Sunday morning at 10:30am!
Joining us on Saturday will be Dr. Tony Wolfe, the Executive Director of the South Carolina Baptist Convention and on Sunday, Dr. Kevin Ezell, President of the North American Mission Board. As special as this time will be, it will be even more so due to the fact that we’ll also be celebrating baptism again on Sunday! Praise His name! This is certain to be an impactful conference, and I ask you to join me in prayer for the Lord to move in mighty ways.
Speaking of Missions, December is the month we set aside to give generously and sacrificially to International Missions through the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering. North Anderson has been historically generous as it relates to this offering and knowing your heart for the nations, I believe the same will be true this year. Just as a reminder, 100% of this offering either goes to direct support of our IMB missionaries on the field, resourcing them for their work or toward getting new international missionaries placed in targeted locations all over the world.
This week at North Anderson, we hope that you’ll join us for our mid-week ministry for adults at 10:30am or 6:30pm, and for our Youth & Children’s Ministry programs at 6:30pm.
Of course, on Thursday, our men will gather at Mama Penn’s at 7:00am for their weekly Bible study and the Rydin’s will host the Cultural Christian Cohort from 7:00-8:00pm at their home.
After this week, there are many other events and activities going on and we encourage you to click the “Events” tab here on our website to check them out but let me share a little bit about a couple of them, so that we’re all “in the loop”.
On Sunday, December 15th, we will have a brief business meeting where we’ll vote on these two things. Please note that there will be no discussion time during the business meeting. That is what we have our “Family Meeting” for on the 11th. Please use that forum or private conversation with Team members in the following days to ask any questions that you may have or to attain any clarification that you may need.
In closing, like we do, I’m sure that you have a full calendar this month! That’s not necessarily a bad thing as opportunities to celebrate the Christmas season with family and friends are a wonderful thing. Just make sure that you and your family are also taking some time to reflect upon what Christmas is really about. Let’s celebrate the Messiah!
One way to do that is to each day leading up to the 25th, be sure to check out the Advent Devotion that we've written. It's posted to our website early each morning. Just click the "Blog" tab to find it!
Prayer Emphasis For This Week: The People Of Urban Robe, Africa
Urban Rose is a city of millions of people. Although parts of the city are modern, filled with large homes and high-rise apartment buildings, there are still neighborhoods made up of small, one- or two-room mud houses. This is where the poor live, the millions of people who live in severe poverty and whose lives have gotten harder as prices continue to rise. In one such neighborhood, two believers have started helping some of these poor families. Single women with children are some of the most vulnerable in this society. The believers are providing these women with food and training in job skills. As the women are trained, the believers have opportunities to demonstrate the love of Jesus and build relationships. Please ask the Lord to provide all the resources needed to help this community. Pray that the women's hearts will be soft and open to the good news. Ask the Holy Spirit to open their eyes to the truth of Jesus, and pray that many will be saved.
Scripture To Meditate On: Isaiah 9:6
"For a child will be born for us, a son will be given to us, and the government will be on his shoulders. He will be named Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace"

- We’ll be hosting another Next Steps New Members Class on Sunday, December 15th at 9:30am. This class is for anyone who is contemplating becoming a part of the North Anderson family. We’ll be talking about who we are, what we believe, and where we are headed as a church family. This class will be held in the room across from the nursey.
- We will not be having our First Wednesday Meal this week but will instead move it to Wednesday, December 11th at 6:00pm. We’ll share a meal together on this date and then have a “Family Meeting” where we’ll present and talk through the 2025 budget that will be presented by our Finance Team and the 2025 Ministry Teams that will be presented by the Nominating Committee.
