This Week At North Anderson

Hello North Anderson family and friends!

What an incredible first Lord’s Day of 2025 we had! We kicked off the year with great Bible Fellowship engagement, sincere worship, and a great start to our sermon series through 1st Peter. I’m sure you noticed in your bulletin that we eclipsed $5000 in Lottie Moon giving. Thank you for your missional heart for the nations! I also want to note that we finished the financial year strong as giving that came in online on Monday and Tuesday of last week, though it will be included in giving records for 2024, was not included in the weekly total that you saw in the bulleting on Sunday. Thank you for being such a generous church. Your faithful and sacrificial giving is making an eternal difference! God be praised!

I think the highlight for me on Sunday, though, was the tremendous Prayer Meeting that we had Sunday evening. Honestly, the attendance exceeded my expectations (oh, me of little faith!) and the sound of God’s people, united in prayer…well, there’s just nothing like it! I can hardly wait for our February prayer meeting to get here! Please plan now to join us for this incredibly special and important time.

The Lord has been so very good to us this past year, and I know that you, like myself, are looking forward to seeing what He does in and through us in 2025!

We’re looking forward to a wonderful week at North Anderson and pray that you’ll join us for:

Wednesday
1st Wednesday Meal from 5:00-6:00pm in the Family Life Center. The cost is $8 a meal and $32 max per family. First time guest eat free, of course! On the menu for this week will be chicken and rise, vegetables, bread, and dessert.
*Special thanks to our Kitchen Team for working hard to get the kitchen area thoroughly cleaned and ready for another year of preparing delicious meals for our church family and friends.

Music Ministry Rehearsal will begin at 5:30pm in the Sanctuary

We are also on our regular schedule this Wednesday with Adult DiscipleU Bible Study resuming our Revelation Bible Study (chapter 12 this week) at 10:30 or 6:30pm and the RA’s, GA’s, Mission Friends, and True North Student Ministry will meet at 6:30pm

Thursday
Our Men’s Bible Study at Mama Penn’s continues at 7:00am

The Cultural Christian Cohort will begin a new session reading and discussing "The Screwtape Letters" by C.S. Lewis. The cohort meets at the home of Cody and Kelsey Rydin. Dinner is at 6:00pm and the cohort begins at 7:00pm (please let Kelsey know if you are planning to join for dinner)

Friday
The Caring Hands Ministry will meet at the home of Mary Simmons at 10:00am

Sunday
We’ll gather for Bible Fellowship Classes at 9:15am and continue our series through 1st Peter as we gather for worship at 10:30am. If you’d like to study ahead, we’ll be wrapping up chapter 1 with a message on the “Call To Holiness” that is to mark the lives of the Exiled Elect (verses 13-25).

On a related note, I want to reiterate a challenge that I gave you all several weeks ago to get in (or back in) the habit of bringing your Bible to church with you. There’s something about the sound of God’s people turning the pages of God’s Word when we come together for worship that must be so pleasing to the ear of our God.

A WORD ABOUT THE WEATHER: As I am sure that you know, there is a chance of inclement weather later this week. Many of the forecast that I am seeing have it coming in Friday afternoon but subsiding by noon on Saturday, so there should be no reason for us to make any changes to our Sunday schedule. Of course, we’ll keep a very close eye on things and should the need arise, we’ll alert you by early Sunday morning of any changes to the schedule via email, social media, our website, or the North Anderson app.

Verse Of The Week:
"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Because of his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead" - 1 Peter 1:3

Prayer Focus:
The People of Central Taiwan

In early January, the Central Taiwan Team will have two student volunteers coming for six months. These two women will join the team's ministry. Please pray the Lord will grant them many local friendships, boldness in sharing the gospel, and meaningful support of local church activities and outreach. Pray that they will work well together as a team for Christ's glory.

I love you all and thank God for your partnership in the Gospel

In Christ Alone,
Pastor Kyle
