I do not claim to be a Historian or an expert in Hebrew tradition. Recently in various readings I was doing about the Bible, Prophecy and the attacks of September 11, 2001; I realized some startling similarities. Let’s look at the number seven as it perhaps Biblically associates with the 9-11 attacks and our current economic situation.

Psalm 12:6 King James Version (KJV); “The words of the Lord are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.”

Genesis 2:2 King James Version (KJV); “And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had made; and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had made.”

From the Seven Days of Genesis to the Seven Seals of Revelation, Scripture is saturated with the number seven. Essentially all Biblical scholars have recognized the symbolic significance of the number seven. Many have called it the “perfect” religious number.

One of the largest bankruptcies in American history was the fall of Lehman Brothers. One of their biggest holdings was in subprime mortgages through such government agencies as “Fannie Mae” and “Freddie Mac”. On September 6, 2008; the director of the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA), James B. Lockhart III, announced his decision to place two Government sponsored enterprises, Fannie Mae (Federal National Mortgage Association) and Freddie Mac (Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation), into conservatorship run by the FHFA. Two days later, on September 9, 2008 the collapse of Lehman Brothers started when it lost 45% of its value. September 10, 2008; it announced a loss of almost four billion dollars. The following day, was its downfall as Lehman Brothers stock plunged. September 11, 2008 was exactly seven years to the day of the 9-11 attacks. It was also on that day that the chief executive of AIG, an American multinational insurance corporation, alerted the Federal Reserve that AIG was also in critical danger and would collapse. Many feel these two events signaled the fall of Wall Street and a ripple of global financial implosion. Now remember, all this happened seven years to the day after the 9-11 attacks. At this time, one of the greatest government bailouts in American history was being discussed for the banking industry by both political parties and the voting public.. Coincidentally? A sum of seven hundred billion dollars.  On that one day, the stock market lost 7%. The number of actual points wiped out that day as represented by a 7% loss was…seven hundred, seventy-seven. All this on the final day of the seventh year after the 9-11 attack.

As we know, the old testament and prophecy is steeped in Hebrew tradition. Briefly here, let us look at the celebration of the Hebrew Shemitah; which revolves around the number seven. The seventh year begins and ends in the month of Tishri, the seventh month of the Biblical year. “The greatest stock market crash in Wall Street history took place on the last day of the Shemitah. That evening it was the beginning of Tishri, which is, the seventh month of the Hebrew year.”

The two greatest stock market crashes America had ever known, both taking place on the exact same Biblical day, separated by the exact period of time ordained in the Bible, seven years to the day. Jonathan Cahn, in his book, “The Harbinger” says:  “The prophet gazed out at a land devastated by the sign of the Shemitah; a nation that had forgotten its foundation and placed its trust in its own power and prosperity rather than in God. Is this a sign to another modern day nation that is also trying to rule God out of its life? Is it a warning to that nation that apart from God’s presence it too is looking toward its day of judgment? Is this GOD, The Almighty, warning those willing to study and head His word?     This is something each will have to decide on their own.

Jesus said: Revelation 22:13 New International Version (NIV); “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.”

John 1:1-3 King James Version (KJV); “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by Him; and without Him was not anything made that was made.”
