POLITICS vs MORALS

4th October 2012 by Bill Davis
Pastors throughout our country have been called on to take a stand this   Sunday. With elections coming up, it is stated that their responsibility   is to “lead their flock”  from the pulpit. Some, feeling a   threat of prosecution from IRS and a threat of loosing their tax exempt   status; have offered to even send a copy of their message to the IRS. A famous   Pastor, Dr. Johnny Hunt, stated in front of a large group of mostly Baptist   adults; “If a pastor is not willing to lead his sheep, then maybe he should   get another job! A cattle drive is just that, the cattle are driven from   behind. You can’t drive or push sheep, they must be led. It is time to move   away from politics and look at morals. Perhaps it is not as much about   who you will support as to who you will not support.
I can not support a platform that defends the murder of children. Call it   abortion if you will, it is murder.
God performed the first marriage in Genesis 2:
18 The   Lord God said,   “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for   him.”
21-22  “So the Lord God caused the man to fall into a   deep sleep; and while he was sleeping, He took one of the man’s ribsand then closed up the place with flesh. Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib He   had taken out of the man, and He brought her to the man.”
I can not support a platform   that endorses same sex marriages and homosexuality as normal.
I can not support a platform   that has to vote to keep the name of God in their convention   material.
Too many people are either   ignorant to the word of God or don’t care. You may not agree with or believe   what I am saying; but I do. And I am willing to stand for the word of   God.
