John 14:6 New International Version (NIV); “Jesus answered, ‘I am  the way  and the truth  and the life.  No one comes to the Father except through me.”
I often hear: “I am a good person. I certainly am not as bad as some others. I even go to church. I don’t really live by the teachings of the Bible, but if God is so loving, certainly I will go to Heaven.”
Sadly, these  are often common rationalizations, but the truth is…they are sadly mistaken. These too often are thoughts Satan has planted in our minds.
2 Corinthians 11:14; “And no wonder, for Satan  himself masquerades as an angel of light.”
It is wrong to believe that God doesn’t care about small sins or that hell is reserved  for those that commit the “big” sins. All sin separates us from God, even the real little ones. Actually, there is only one sin and that is disobedience. Disobedience to God’s word; that pretty much covers it all. Everyone has sinned, and no one is good enough to get to heaven on their own. God doesn’t keep a score card where we hope our good outweighs  our bad. You can’t save yourself; no one is good enough to do that. We all continue to sin every day. Well then, how do we get to heaven? You can attend church, lead Bible studies, feed and clothe the poor; but that will not get you to heaven. Then, how do we get to heaven?
Titus 3:5 (NIV); “He saved us,  not because of righteous things we had done,  but because of His mercy.  He saved us through the washing  of rebirth and renewal  by the Holy Spirit.”
There are those that think they can gain God’s favor by merely doing good, imitating examples of others and even by their own merits. That is not what Jesus said! Sure, you may believe in God. I guess most people do, even Satan believes in God. So it might not be as easy as many want you to believe.
Matthew 7:13 New International Version (NIV); “Enter through the narrow gate.  For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it.”
Matthew 7:13-14 The Message (MSG); “Don’t look for shortcuts to God. The market is flooded with surefire, easygoing formulas for a successful life that can be practiced in your spare time. Don’t fall for that stuff, even though crowds of people do. The way to life—to God!—is vigorous and requires total attention.”
There is only one way of salvation. There is only one who was willing to pay for our sin with His own blood and He taught us the only way to salvation.

John 14:6; “Jesus said, ‘I am  the way  and the truth  and the life.  No one comes to the Father except through me.”
