FAITH

What is your definition of “faith”? Is Christian Faith something you have or something you practice? Or is it something we have and need to practice each day?

Romans 12:3 Contemporary English Version (CEV); “I realize how kind God has been to me, and so I tell each of you not to think you are better than you really are. Use good sense and measure yourself by the amount of faith that God has given you.”

Hebrews 11:6 Contemporary English Version (CEV); “But without faith no one can please God. We must believe that God is real and that He rewards everyone who searches for Him.”

I think sometimes we believe almost everything we read in the Bible. True faith means we will believe EVERYTHING that is taught or promised by God.

Matthew 19:26 (CEV); “Jesus looked straight at them and said, ‘There are some things that people cannot do, but God can do anything.”

God has granted us free will and He has also granted all of us the ability to have faith. We too often exercise our free will while neglecting faith in God’s sovereign wisdom and in His will for our life. If you believe in God’s word and have faith that He will work His glory out within you, then you can overcome past mistakes and move toward a truly God centered life. As you become more aware of the importance of faith in your personal life, then your faith in God will easily supersede any of man’s laws or the pressure of others. Your faith in God certainly should greatly surpass your faith in others. Therefore, your concern for accountability should be to God not man.

Through our faith, God gives us all we need to live a spirit filled life. 2 Peter 1:3 (CEV); “We have everything we need to live a life that pleases God. It was all given to us by God’s own power, when we learned that He had invited us to share in His wonderful goodness.”

As we live our faith in God, we allow Him to work in our life. We allow Him to use our God given talents to reach and help others. We all have the ability to live in faith, we must just remove our own sinful nature and reach upward to Him. He certainly is reaching down to us.

Romans 10:17 (CEV); “No one can have faith without hearing the message about Christ.”

As we study God’s word and strive to live more Christ-like each day, we will receive His assurance of faith.

Hebrews 11:1(CEV); “Faith makes us sure of what we hope for and gives us proof of what we cannot see.”

God wants to give all of us the ability to use and share His word with the world.
