Do You Need To Be Committed?

6th March 2012 by Bill Davis
I looked up the word, Committed, and the definition was: “send to prison or psychiatric hospital”. Now that is a basic secular definition taken from a secular dictionary. Mind you, some would probably say they think I may need to consider the later option. Yes, the psychiatric portion. Moving away from the secular; lets look at a Biblical definition. Acts 14:23; “Paul and Barnabas appointed elders for them in each church and, with prayer and fasting, committed them to the Lord.” Psalm 37:5a; “Commit your way to the Lord; trust in Him.” What are you committed to? Do you want to be a member of the fellowship of believers that are unashamed to speak out for Jesus? Not only unashamed, but willing and excited to spread His word. The road may be narrow and the journey rough with few of those willing to follow. I myself, will not be bought, compromised or tempted by worldly fashions. Don’t expect me to give up or shut up in my walk with Jesus Christ. I will not, AGAIN, I will not flinch in the face of adversity or challenge. I am a follower of Jesus Christ, my Savior. My prayer is that when persecution and ridicule comes, there will be enough said of me; that I will be committed to God’s every lasting grace.
