Day Eight: “Spiritual Gifts”

7th September 2011 by Bill Davis

 Romans 12: 4-5

“Just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.”

When you ask God into your heart and strive to follow Him; the Holy Spirit gives certain gifts to you. These gifts are not just for your use, but are to be cultivated and used for God’s Kingdom on earth. What spiritual gifts has God given you? These are questions that can be answered through prayer and searching for His will in our life. Once God leads us toward a certain gift, it is our own responsibility to follow that “inner voice”. A spiritual gift really has no value if it is not cultivated and then shared with others. God wants us to help others and as a believer He has given each of us gifts and special abilities of our very own to do that. For as we have often heard and read in His word, “As you did it to the least of these, you did it unto Me.”

Dear God, it is such an awesome responsibility to use the gifts You have given us in a manner that is acceptable to you and worthy of Your praise. Give us the insight and strength to search and find those special gifts you have given only us and to be willing and eager to use them for Your will on earth and to the blessings of Your people.
