Day Seven: “Be Active In Your Faith”

6th September 2011 by Bill Davis

 Philemon: 1:6

“I pray that you may be active in sharing your faith, so that you will have a full understanding of every good thing we have in Christ.”

 Isaiah: 54:2-3a

“Enlarge the place of your tent, stretch your tent curtains wide, do not hold back; lengthen your cords, strengthen your stakes. For you will spread out to the right and to the left.”

 Comment

Yesterday we talked about faith without works being dead. God will show us renewed energy and knowledge in spreading His message through our works. God is so ready to empower us that we must pray and be willing for Him to increase our capacity to serve. If we have a little tiny heart to receive His blessings, then it may fill up fast. But if we are willing to enlarge our hearts, then God will fill that as well. There is a direct correlation between how much we are willing to share His message and how much He will enable us to share it. Wherever you go, God’s mercy and presence will go with you; tenfold, twentyfold, more than a hundredfold: if you have the container (your heart) to carry it. Only then will you know what God has in store for you.

 Prayer

Our Heavenly Father, we pray that we will be willing to accept the spiritual power You are ready and desiring to give us. May we use it to your glory and support of others. The only limit to the effectiveness of our witness is our ability to accept Your blessings. Give us the desire to increase our own capacity to give.
