A Letter From Pastor Bill

3rd August 2011 by Bill Davis

Dear Church Family,

Once in awhile I feel that I need to inform our church family of some very important events.  There are three events this week that will make a difference to each of us as members and also to the Kingdom of God.
The first is this Wednesday night August 3rd.  Bob and Phyllis Foy will be coming to be with us again to explain and guide us through our next Lay Renewal Weekend.  Each member of the church needs to be at this meeting to be prepared for this different and critical event for our fellowship.  Our meeting starts at 6:45pm and will last about 1 hour or so.  Please make this a priority for your life.
The second will be Saturday, August 6th at Covenant Baptist Church on Liberty Highway.  Since I have been in this association there has never been a better opportunity than these EPIC Conferences for training and growing in your faith.  These events have been the best way to get good leadership training and to grow in Christian maturity.  I urge every leader in our fellowship to attend these meetings.  There is a seminar that meets your leadership needs and training so plan to be there.  Attached to this e-mail is the list of seminars and the times for each.
The third is our effort to join together in prayer for our nation.  In Texas, a prayer event is being held in Houston starting at 10am Texas time.  Bill Davis and I recently attended a meeting where we heard the governor of Texas talk about the purpose of this prayer event regarding our nation’s great need of a revival and the hand of God to heal our land.  2 Chronicles 7:14 says “…if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”  We have an opportunity this Saturday, starting at 11am, to gather together as Christians, not Republicans or Democrats but believers in the Lord Jesus Christ, to seek the face of our Lord God Almighty to touch our land and His church with grace and mercy.  This is a time where you can drop by the church and pray for 5 minutes or for an hour or all day.  Come and pray with others who love their country and God’s church.
Our church fellowship is a special place in which to be involved and a wonderful place to worship our Savior.  Seek to make yourself a better disciple and witness for the Lord.
Your pastor,
