Are you in need of spiritual food? If not, you may not be living a Christ centered life. If you were living for Him, then you would most likely continually want more of His “food.” Matthew 5:6; “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.” Have you ever just wanted something to eat or drink but couldn’t figure out what it was? Even after you eat and drink, you still say; “That’s really not what I wanted.” Spiritual hunger is pretty much the same way. You eat food, drink alcohol, other addictions, sex, money, power, family, attending church, friends, whatever; you still are “hungry”. Only God can fill that kind of hunger. When you hunger and thirst for righteousness and want His love and fulfillment in your life; only then will you stand a chance of being spiritually satisfied. Often during the day, you must eat and even rest to be able to meet your expected goals. You need to eat each day those things that fill your body with needed nutrients. This is how it is with your spiritual food. You need to drink in His word and feast on His scriptures. Do you stop during the day and eat or drink? Do you stop during the day and read the Bible? Read the Bible as a spiritual snack. Study the Scriptures as your spiritual meal. Some people just can’t start their day without that shot of caffeine. Start your day with a “shot of Jesus” too!
