Temporary Suspension of Activities

To Our Church Family at NABC,

We praise our great God of love and mercy for His enduring care over His children. Psalm 20:7, “Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.”

While our medical professionals and government officials do all they can to control or treat the coronavirus COVID-19, we thank them for all they are doing on our behalf and while we wait we will continue to pray and believe in the God of the Bible and trust in Him for He is sovereign over all, He is all powerful and nothing has caught Him by surprise. Let us trust in God. Proverbs 3:5-6, 5“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; 6 in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”

We are citizens of the USA and our President has asked that groups of more than 10 not meet together. Because of that request, the worship and activities of NABC will be suspended until Sunday, April 5. For a little over 2 weeks there will be NO activities at our church facilities. We are encouraging you to join us for the live streamed worship services each Sunday, March 22 and 29 that can be seen on NABC Facebook and on our website www.northandersonbaptist.com. Worship at home with us! We look forward to our first worship back together on April 5, when we will have our regularly scheduled Sunday School and Worship.

We have always been so thankful for your faithful giving to the Lord’s work here at NABC and around the world, that we are asking that you keep it up for these next two Sundays by giving in one of four ways:

1. Bring your offerings to the church office during office hours of M-Th. 8:30 am – 4:30 pm.

2. Drop through the mail slot on the office door 24/7.

3. Mail your contributions to North Anderson Baptist Church, PO Box 793, Anderson, SC 29622.

4. Give electronically on our website: www.northandersonbaptist.com (upper right side of web page “On-line Giving”) or just giving.nabc.church

We know that you will continue to give faithfully to the Lord’s work.

We pray that while you may not be able to physically worship together at “church,” YOU are the church and our Savior and Lord desires for us to still be His hands and feet. Because of His mercy and love to us, we should reach out at this time and care like Christ would for those who are in need. Seek out those who may need your love and help others who can’t help themselves. You may need to take someone to get food or even pay for a person’s groceries who may be having financial problems. If someone needs to go to the doctor and is afraid to get out by themself, you can lend a hand by taking them. If there are difficulties in our church family our deacons and ministers stand ready to help in any way possible. Unfortunately the hospitals are not allowing visitors and the nursing and assisted living facilities are on basic lock down and we can’t visit. But, if there is a need with any of our members you may call me and I will do what it takes to care and minister as Christ would. Please call the pastor at 933-6200 and I will respond as quickly as possible.

I want to thank you for your support. Many of our leaders here at NABC helped to make these decisions. We are a family and I am grateful to each of them for their courageous leadership. We are all concerned for the health and welfare of all our members but particularly our Senior Adults.

I leave you with this thought, let’s count our blessings and thank God for His past faithfulness and His present care to His children. He will not leave us nor forsake us. Isaiah 26:3-4 says, 3 “You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you. 4 Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord, the Lord himself, is the Rock eternal.”

I love and pray for God’s protection over each of you,

Pastor Bill

Day 30 Prayer

Then I heard a loud voice from the throne: Look, God’s dwelling is with humanity, and he will live with them. They will be his peoples, and God himself will be with them and will be their God. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes. Death will be no more; grief, crying, and pain will be no more, because the previous things have passed away. Then the one seated on the throne said, “Look, I am making everything new.” He also said, “Write, because these words are faithful and true.” Then he said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. I will freely give to the thirsty from the spring of the water of life. REVELATION 21:3–6, CSB

Lord, I long for the day when You will make all things new. This world is broken, and I know You will come and recreate all things. I know You have set a day when Christ will return and do just that. I ask You to save _____ before that great day. Make him/her thirsty for the water of life You freely give. Use the witness of Your people to point him/her to salvation through Jesus Christ. I know You are the Beginning and the End—the only hope for salvation for all people. So, I ask You to give _____ new life in Christ.

Day 29 Prayer

And they sang a new song: You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals, because you were slaughtered, and you purchased people for God by your blood from every tribe and language and people and nation. REVELATION 5:9, CSB

God, You are worthy of the worship of all people. You created all things for Your glory and made every person who has ever lived to proclaim Your excellence. This is true of _____, as well. When I read John’s picture of the worship of every tribe, tongue and nation in heaven, I picture _____ among that group. Save him/her, so he/she would join in the chorus of those who praise You as worthy. As I seek to share with _____, burden my heart for all people around the world who do not know You. Save _____, and use him/her to declare Your glory among the nations as well.

Day 28 Prayer

Dear friends, don’t overlook this one fact: With the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years like one day. The Lord does not delay his promise, as some understand delay, but is patient with you, not wanting any to perish but all to come to repentance. 2 PETER 3:8–9, CSB

Father, thank You for being patient with _____. I know every day You extend his/her life is testimony to Your long suffering and desire for all people to know and personally experience the hope that comes through faith in Jesus Christ. I also understand You could return at any moment and, when You do, it will be too late for those who have never repented of their sins and trusted You. I pray this reality will create a sense of urgency in my life and cause me to share with boldness. I ask that Your kindness will lead _____ to repent of his/her sins and experience life with You now and forever.

Day 27 Prayer

Therefore, we don’t need to say anything, for they themselves report what kind of reception we had from you: how you turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God and to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead—Jesus, who rescues us from the coming wrath. 1 THESSALONIANS 1:8–10, CSB

Lord, Paul gives thanks for those in the Church who turned from idols to serve You, the true and living God. This is exactly what _____ needs to do. Though he/she would likely not admit he/she is serving idols, that’s exactly what’s happening. Money. Power. Possessions. Fame. Anything other than You! Cause _____ to see these things for what they are — frail and flimsy sources of hope and ultimately not worthy of worship. I pray for a time when I will be able to look back on _____’s life and testify that he/she turned from idols to trust in You—the only true God.

Day 26 Prayer

When this corruptible body is clothed with incorruptibility, and this mortal body is clothed with immortality, then the saying that is written will take place: Death has been swallowed up in victory. Where, death, is your victory? Where, death, is your sting? The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ! 1 CORINTHIANS 15:54-57, CSB

God, the resurrection is my hope. I believe Jesus rose victorious over Satan, sin and death, and His resurrection was the first fruits of all those who have faith in His work. We, too, will rise again one day! _____ does not know this same hope. Remind him/her of his/her own mortality, and create an awareness of his/her need for eternal hope. Use the reality of the brokenness of this life and the reality of death to jar _____ from his/her complacency, and position those who know You to testify to the hope of the resurrection.
