18 Inch Journey

This could be called “The 18 inch Journey” or “Computer Download”.

Psalm 57:7; “My heart is steadfast, O God, my heart is steadfast.” Proverbs 18 Selected; “Before his downfall, a man’s heart is proud.” “The heart of the discerning acquires knowledge.” Often we make our Christian walk much more complicated than it has to be. Certainly we need to study scripture but being able to merely quote verse after verse often does not fulfill our needs. I have heard people said they are searching for God’s will in their life. Too often we miss the simplicity of just opening our heart, living as we know He would want us to and following His guidance each day. God will lead us into His will as long as we are listening. Obedience is a key word here. Certainly we need to spend time each day in scripture and prayer. Until we let our knowledge move from our head to our heart, it is only knowledge that perhaps isn’t being used as simply as it should. Christianity needs to move from a point of only knowledge to making it a lifestyle. Having Christ in your heart is really very simple. Just ask Him, believing He will come and then acting on that belief. We are just too self-centered while we need to be more Christ-centered. It can really be that simple. God knows what you are thinking. You may be able to fool others and even yourself; but you will never be able to fool Him. 1 Samuel 16:7; “The Lord does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” When the Lord looks at your heart….what does He see? To often people go around acting on the outside what they aren’t on the inside. Trust me; you can’t deceive God. Does your heart and actions line up? You and God know what is on the inside, others see what is on the outside. God is much more concerned with the inside. A Pastor friend of mine told me that God will not let evil live with Him. Bring God into your heart. Fill your complete being with Him and there won’t be room for evil. Evil may make a visit every once in a while, but with the help of God, he won’t stay long.
